ONE Championship will officially break ground in “The Land Of The Rising Sun” with three World Title matches at ONE: A NEW ERA.

It has been the dream of ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong to bring his promotion to Japan, and now, after years of hard work, it will finally come to fruition on Sunday, 31 March.

The historic event is set to take place at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo. The indoor sporting arena is located in the Yokoami neighborhood of Japan’s capital city, and it holds a capacity of 11,000 people.

In the main event, ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard “Landslide” Folayang will take on Japanese martial arts legend Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki in a long-awaited rematch.

The Filipino won their first match-up in November 2016, and he will try to put on a repeat performance. However, Aoki will attempt to avenge his loss and reclaim the gold in front of his compatriots.

Also, there will be two co-main events.

ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan of China will defend her title against ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion “Unstoppable” Angela Lee.

The pair were initially set to meet at ONE: HEART OF THE LION back in November, but Lee was forced to pull out of the bout due to injury. The Singaporean, now healthy, will be moving up a weight class in an effort to become the first two-division women’s ONE World Champion.

As for the other co-main event, reigning two-division ONE World Champion Aung La “The Burmese Python” N Sang will defend his middleweight title in a highly-anticipated rematch against Japan’s Ken Hasegawa.

They earned “Bout Of The Year” honors at the 2018 Global Martial Arts Awards, and the sequel should deliver on the same excitement from their initial encounter in June.

In addition to the trio of World Title matches, the event will also mark the debut of American mixed martial arts legends Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson and Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez.

Johnson, considered the pound-for-pound best mixed martial artist in the history of the sport, is set to face Japan’s Yuya “Little Piranha” Wakamatsu in the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix quarterfinals.

Alvarez will be meeting Russia’s Timofey Nastyukhin in the quarterfinal round of the ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix.

Rounding out the six matches announced will be a ONE Super Series kickboxing clash of epic proportions, as Muay Thai legend Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex meets Dutch icon Andy Souwer.
