The Vancouver Canucks finally ended their NHL losing streak, while the Pittsburgh Penguins edged the Edmonton Oilers.
A nine-game losing run was ended as the Canucks claimed a surprise 5-3 win over the New York Rangers on Tuesday.
Conor Sheary's two goals, including the match-winner, saw the Penguins past the Oilers 4-3.
There were also huge wins for the Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets.
A four-goal third period saw the Canucks finally return to winning ways.
Alexandre Burrows scored twice for Vancouver, while Henrik Sedin and Sven Bartschi also netted in the third period.
SHEARY SINKS OILERS
Connor McDavid (three assists) and Jordan Eberle (two goals, one assist) were unable to lift the Oilers past the Penguins.
Pittsburgh came from 3-1 down thanks to goals from Carl Hagelin, Evgeni Malkin and Sheary.
Sheary's second of the game came with one minute, 42 seconds remaining.
KINGS, JETS SCORE BIG
The Kings and Jets piled on the goals.
The Kings thrashed the Toronto Maple Leafs 7-0, while Patrik Laine scored a hat-trick in the Jets' 8-2 victory over the Dallas Stars.
CANADIENS KEEP WINNING
The Montreal Canadiens made it 11 wins in 13 with a 3-2 victory over the Boston Bruins.
The Detroit Red Wings edged to a 3-2 shoot-out win against the Philadelphia Flyers, the Nashville Predators overcame the Ottawa Senators 3-1 and the Arizona Coyotes claimed a 4-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche.
The New Jersey Devils had a 3-2 shoot-out win over the Carolina Hurricanes and the San Jose Sharks shut out the Washington Capitals 3-0.
BLACKHAWKS VISIT ST LOUIS
The Chicago Blackhawks (9-3-1) and Artem Anisimov (17 points) take on the St Louis Blues (7-4-2).
