The 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass was not Tiger Woods' friend in his second round but he was all smiles on the iconic island green on Saturday.

The 14-time major champion saw his progress at The Players Championship checked on Friday as he carded a quadruple-bogey at the 17th, twice sending the ball into the water.

Yet having recovered well from that setback in the remainder of his second 18 to comfortably make the cut, Woods was in far better spirits as he played with Kevin Na the following day.

Na prompted a big grin from Woods when he dashed to collect his putt as it dropped into the hole, before the 43-year-old superstar then followed suit to the delight of the watching crowd.

The two players shared a fist-bump and lots of laughs as they made their way to the 18th.
