Pengendali skuad ragbi 7's negara, Saizul Hafifi Md Noor, menyifatkan Sukan Komanwel Gold Coast memberikan pendedahan dan persediaan terbaik menghadapi Sukan Asia Indonesia, Ogos depan.
Di Gold Coast, barisan negara tewas dalam kesemua perlawanan peringkat kumpulan, 43-0 kepada Afrika Selatan, Scotland (41-0) sebelum tunduk 31-5 kepada Papua New Guinea (PNG).
Hafifi mengakui ketiga-tiga pasukan itu berada di tahap yang lebih tinggi, namun pengalaman yang diraih pemain negara mampu menjadi bekalan penting dalam Sukan Asia.
"Bagi saya, aksi di Gold Coast adalah satu pendedahan yang amat bagus buat pasukan negara kerana apabila dapat beraksi di peringkat yang tertinggi, diharapkan mereka dapat mengekalkan prestasi itu dalam Sukan Asia nanti," katanya.
Beliau turut berpuas hati dengan komitmen serta semangat juang pemain walaupun berdepan ketiga-tiga lawan tersebut.
Sasaran buat skuad negara ialah berada dalam kelompok empat pasukan terbaik di Jakarta-Palembang dan jika boleh, membawa pulang pingat untuk negara.
"Sekarang memang kami cuba mendapatkan tempat dalam kelompok empat terbaik, jadi kami akan turut cuba untuk mengejar pingat," tambahnya.
