In-form forward Marcus Rashford suffered a knock in England's final training session before flying out for the World Cup, Gareth Southgate has confirmed.

Southgate's squad touched down in Russia on Tuesday with Rashford among the 23-man party who are hoping to lift the trophy for the first time since 1966.

The Manchester United man's injury is not believed to be serious, meaning he could still be fit for the opening Group G game against Tunisia on June 18.

Rashford, 20, netted a stunning goal in the 2-0 friendly win over Costa Rica on Thursday to advance his case for a starting place in Volgograd.

England's other group opponents are Panama and the world's third-ranked side Belgium.
