Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger will be sharing a studio for the first time for beIN SPORTS' coverage of the UEFA Champions League final this week.

They will be present at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium as pundits for the all-English clash between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

Besides having a wealth of European experience between them, with Mourinho winning the tournament with Porto in 2004 and Inter Milan in 2010, and Wenger coming close in 2006 when Arsenal lost to Barcelona in the final, they had one of the fiercest rivalries in the Premier League.

The pair constantly exchanged verbal blows throughout Wenger's time at Arsenal and Mourinho's stints at Chelsea and Manchester United.

However, the rivalry calmed down in recent years, with Mourinho recently praising Wenger at the Laureus World Sports Awards.

"He is a very intelligent person and one of the best managers in the history of football," he said about the Frenchman after the latter received a Laureus Lifetime Achievement award earlier this year.

"I really enjoyed the competition [with him] but there were some episodes along the road that I don't like to say I regret because this is really part of our history and we cannot go back and delete them.

"But what I can say is that the real respect is always there."

The UEFA Champions League final will be shown live on beIN's dedicated UEFA channel, beIN SPORTS MAX (Astro CH841), kicking off at 3am on Sunday.

Astro is beIN Asia Pacific's official partner to broadcast UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League matches in Malaysia from the 2018/19 season to 2020/21.
