Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) became the first team to garner 500 points in the Malaysian Super League after beating Kelantan 2-1 at the Sultan Mohammad IV Stadium on Saturday.

Natxo Insa struck the winning goal in the 83rd minute after Safiq Rahim cancelled out Mohammed Ghaddar's 12th minute opener in the first half.

The win was the 148th victory for the Southern Tigers in the Super League, which was the most by a team since the league’s inception in 2004.

Totalling the wins with the 56 draws they achieved throughout the years, the four-time league champions reached the points milestone in 269 games.

Almost half of the points (245) came from their Johor FC days before they were taken over and transformed by Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim in 2013.

They edged out Selangor, who had 499 points from 290 games after their 2-1 win over Negeri Sembilan on the same day, to the honour.

JDT’s latest result also further cemented their position at the top of the all-time Super League table after they dethroned the Red Giants two weeks ago.
