Indra ready to become Kuala Lumpur captain
Indra Putra Mahayuddin is ready to step up as captain for Kuala Lumpur if necessary.

Despite his advanced age and having just joined from Kelantan, the experienced forward has been tipped by head coach Fabio Magrao to lead the newly promoted team for the new season.

"For me, it is not a problem if a player is 36 or 18 years old; if he does well in training, he can play," said Fabio, who entrusted the captain's armband to defender Helmi Remeli last season.

"He is a veteran, but he can run and carry out his duties well, which is why I might use him as captain."

As for Indra Putra, he would relish the opportunity, having occasionally shouldered the responsibility of leading the team at his past clubs.

"[The captaincy] depends on the coach and management, but I am always ready to take on any roles and responsibilities assigned to me," he said.
