Last season's Malaysia Cup finalists, Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) and Kedah, will lock horns once again in this year's edition after being drawn together in Group C.

The Southern Tigers, who just won the Malaysian Super League title for the fifth straight season, beat the 2016 winners 2-0 last November courtesy of goals from Aidil Zafuan Abdul Radzak and Gonzalo Cabrera.

Also in the same group are newly-relegated Super League side Kelantan as well as Malaysian Premier League club MISC-MIFA.

There is also another rematch of a recent cup final on the cards as 2018 Malaysian FA Cup finalists Pahang and Selangor are in Group D alongside PKNP and Sabah, who returned to the competition for the first time since 2011.

Group A consists of Perak, Terengganu, Kuala Lumpur and Felcra, while PKNS, Melaka United, Felda United and PDRM will battle it out in Group B.

This year's Malaysia Cup features top 11 teams from the Malaysian Super League and top five from the Malaysian Premier League

The first group stage match will be played on August 4 and 5, and the final will be on October 27.
