Astro's first-ever broadcast of Premier League matches in 4K UHD received positive feedback from media and football fans alike.

They were invited to an exclusive viewing of the 4K UHD broadcast at Souled Out in Desa Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur, on Sunday to watch Liverpool hammer West Ham United 4-0 and Manchester City beat Arsenal 2-0.

"[Watching Premier League games in 4K UHD] is awesome. What we are seeing right now is actually a revolution on how the [football] viewing experience is," Twentytwo13 editor Haresh Deol told Stadium Astro.

"As much as we say that people are fixated over their smartphones and tablets, I think you will not go wrong with [4K UHD content]; in fact, it is a very good reason why you should ditch the smartphone and actually watch on a bigger screen.

"This is what watching content is all about and I think there will be more to come [from Astro]."

Lowyat.NET editor Syefri Zulkefli also enjoyed the offering, believing the timing of the launch couldn't be any better.

"It is great that we are finally seeing [4K UHD content] in Malaysia because it is already a trend around the world and the cost of a 4K TV has gone down, so it is about time for Malaysians to adopt the technology.

"HD is good, but watching things in a higher resolution is always better," he chipped in.

Seasoned journalist Graig Nunis was also full of praise for the more vibrant and crispier video quality.

"To be honest, in the beginning, you couldn't tell the difference, but eventually as you sit down and actually pay attention, you will be able to see the finer and sharper details especially in the background.

"I think you will be able to tell the difference better when you watch it at home, like when you switch Astro channels from SD to HD.

"It looks good in SD, better in HD, and I suppose it would be superb in 4K UHD," he said.

Avid Liverpool fan Mohamad Sulaiman said: "As a hardcore Liverpool fan in Malaysia, experiencing the Liverpool match earlier in 4K UHD was magnificent.

"I was so immersed in the game, it felt even better than watching the game live from the stadium!"
