Virat Kohli missed the start of the fourth day of India's second Test in England due to a back injury.

India began Sunday in real trouble at Lord's, facing up to a second defeat as England, led by Chris Woakes on an unbeaten 120, resumed their first innings leading by 250 runs on 357-6.

And the tourists were initially without their captain on Sunday - Kohli, who missed part of the previous day, unable to field due to a back strain.

Kohli had been influential in the first Test before Ben Stokes inspired England's victory and India may require more heroics from their skipper at Lord's.

Ajinkya Rahane took charge of the team with Kohli absent.
