The start of Ireland's Test debut against Pakistan in Malahide on Friday has been delayed due to rain.

What will be an historic first ball was scheduled to be bowled at 11:00 local time but has been pushed back due to inclement weather.

Another inspection will take place at midday, providing the rain has stopped falling.

Ireland were granted full member status by the International Cricket Council last June and will be desperate to get the one-off Test under way.
