Mominul Haque became the first Bangladesh batsman to score a century in each innings of a Test as the Tigers ensured a draw in the opening match with Sri Lanka.
The 26-year-old backed up his fine 176 from the first innings with 105 in the second on Sunday for the hosts.
Bangladesh had looked in trouble at 89-3 at the end of day four in Chittagong, Sri Lanka's lead still 119 after their mammoth 713-9 declared in the first innings.
There was no Bangladesh collapse this time, though, as Mominul and Liton Das piled on 180 runs for the fourth wicket to frustrate the tourists.
Das was first to raise his bat as he went to 50 with a crisp cover drive to the boundary just after lunch, and 14 overs later Mominul wrote his name into the history books with his fifth century, the milestone coming off 154 balls.
Mominul's fine knock ended when he edged Dhananjaya de Silva (1-41) to Dimuth Karunaratne at slip, but Das continued his impressive knock as he charged towards a maiden Test century.
He fell six short of three figures, though, as Rangana Herath (2-80) gave Sri Lanka some hope, the left-arm spinner having Das caught in the deep by Dilruwan Perera after a rare loose shot.
The two wickets were as good as it got for the visitors as further wickets failed to materialise, Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah guiding the home side beyond tea with an unbeaten 28.
At the end of the 100th over of the innings both captains called it a draw, leaving everything to play for in the second and final Test in Dhaka.
