Ben Stokes will miss England's one-day international against Scotland and the start of the ODI series against Australia as he continues his recovery from a torn hamstring.

The all-rounder suffered the injury during a practice session ahead of the second Test against Pakistan, forcing him to sit out the match at Headingley.

A scan confirmed a tear in his left hamstring and the 26-year-old will return to county side Durham on Monday to undergo further treatment.

While ruled out of contention for the one-off fixture in Edinburgh on June 10, it is hoped Stokes could yet recover in time to feature against Australia later in the month.

A statement from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed the player will be unavailable for the "first part" of the five-match series, which starts on June 13.

England have called up batsman Dawid Malan for the game with Scotland, while Sam Billings has been added to the squad to face Australia.
