Eoin Morgan returned to England's batting line-up for their final Cricket World Cup warm-up match, but Mark Wood was absent on Monday.

England captain Morgan suffered a small flake fracture to his left index finger in training last week and missed the fixture against Australia.

But the 32-year-old was back in action against Afghanistan.

England named a 12-man side, with Morgan batting but not fielding at The Oval.

Wood, who pulled up in the clash with Australia, has reportedly been cleared of serious injury, yet he was missing from the team.

Liam Plunkett was rested, while Liam Dawson also sat out after picking up a knock. Jofra Archer, another concern, was fit to start.

Hosts England kick off the World Cup against South Africa on Thursday.
