Ryan Garcia is going to fight Romero Duno and he will be doing it on the biggest card of the year.

Garcia (18-0, 15 KOs) announced Wednesday on Twitter he and Duno (21-1, 16 KOs) will be the co-main event Nov. 2 when Canelo Alvarez fights Sergey Kovalev in Las Vegas.

This came minutes after Garcia announced he had signed a contract with Golden Boy Promotions.

"Just signed one of the most lucrative boxing deals for a prospect in the History of the sport," Garcia wrote. "Thank you to my team and @OscarDeLaHoya @makeawar."

This is a dramatic turn of events from the last few weeks as Garcia was at odds with Golden Boy after he appeared to be upset with how he was being promoted. Garcia expressed displeasure with the company after a potential fight with Duno was being set up as a co-main event on a card where he would have been the main attraction. He said he would have set up a fight with Duno then but preferred one for November.

Then this past weekend, Garcia was supposed to fight Avery Sparrow, who was arrested leading up to the event. He then reportedly turned down a fight with Duno that night, but denied that actually happened with a heated post on Instagram.

Duno has been looking for this matchup, as well, as he wore a T-shirt a week before that called for Garcia to "stop running." But he was respectful of his ability in talking about the type of boxer he is and didn't sound upset with the confusion of everything around this past weekend's fight.

"I know Ryan Garcia is not scared of me," Duno said. "I know Ryan is a fighter too. That’s why maybe he needs time to think about it. If Golden Boy gives me that fight, I will fight. Tell me what time and what date, and I will fight. They said Ryan’s opponent was arrested and they asked, ‘would you like to have a fight with Ryan?’. I said, ‘Yes, of course.’ I was expecting a response, but maybe next time we’ll arrange the match between me and him. He’s trying to have a big fight, and a big card. Maybe soon we’ll settle it. Ryan is a good boxer."

Now it looks like the pair is finally going to fight in November on a high-profile card. The matchup will take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
