Former WBC welterweight champion and "Dancing With the Stars" contestant Victor Ortiz turned himself in to authorities Tuesday in Oxnard, Calif., where he is facing multiple felony sexual assault charges, police say (via the Ventura Star).

His arrest comes only days before he was scheduled to face friend and sparring partner John Molina Jr. on Sunday night in Ontario, Calif., in a nationally televised fight on Fox Sports 1.

Ortiz, 31, is charged with three counts of felony sexual assault, including forcible rape, stemming from an alleged incident March 19, Oxnard police say. His bail was set at $100,000.

Ortiz won the WBC welterweight title in 2011 and beyond boxing appeared as a contestant on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" in 2013 and has had multiple film roles, including in the action movie "Expendables 3."

He also has had multiple run-ins with the law, according to court records cited by the Star.
