Will Kevin Durant re-sign with Warriors? Steve Kerr, Bob Myers have 'no idea'

It's the biggest question of the offseason – will Kevin Durant re-sign with the Warriors in free agency?

Now that the NBA Finals are over and the start of free agency is only a couple of weeks away, both Golden State coach Steve Kerr and general manager Bob Myers admitted they don't know whether Durant will return to the Warriors or sign with another team.

"I have no idea what Kevin is going to do," Kerr told reporters Friday (via NBC Sports). "I know that we all want him back.

"We think that this is a great situation for him and vice versa, so hopefully we get him back and keep this thing going with the understanding that he's a free agent and we want what's best for him and he's free to make any choice he wants.

"Hopefully he's back, and we'll give him any advice, any console that he needs, and ultimately he's going to make his own decision. He earned that."

Myers also said he wasn't sure if Durant would be back, but he explained the Warriors want to do everything they can to keep him.

"What more could we ask for from him? He's been everything to us," Myers said. "The guy has been everything we could have ever dreamed. Been an awesome member of this organization. There's so much stuff he does in the community that probably doesn't get as many headlines. The things he's done in D.C., his foundation. How he kind of lives his life. Like I said, we're lucky to have been around him. Hopefully, we can keep doing that."

It has been speculated that Durant would leave the Warriors in free agency, but the injury he suffered in the NBA Finals could throw his long-term future with any team for a loop.

After missing several games in the postseason to a calf injury, Durant returned for Game 5 against the Raptors only to leave in the second quarter with another injury. He announced earlier this week that he had surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles, and Kerr said it's likely he will miss all of next season as he recovers.

NBA free agency begins June 30 at 6 p.m. ET.
