Warriors' Kevin Durant says everyone's trying to push Dirk Nowitzki out of NBA

The fans at Oracle Arena took a moment to honor Dirk Nowitzki with a standing ovation Saturday when the Warriors hosted the Mavericks.

Though Nowitzki hasn't officially announced his retirement from the league, many expect the veteran to retire at the end of the 2018-19 season. However, the 40-year-old forward said last month that he hasn't ruled out a 22nd season and will just listen to his body when it comes time to make a decision.

With uncertainty about his future, Nowitzki has received numerous tributes during road games this year. But at least one player isn't buying into the farewell tour.

Warriors star Kevin Durant weighed in on Nowitzki's future after Golden State's 126-91 loss, but he didn't want to offer his thoughts on Nowitzki's career out of respect.

When asked about Nowitzki's "send-off" tribute at Oracle Arena, Durant said (via ESPN): "Has Dirk retired yet? I feel like everybody pushing him out the league. So I'll wait till he makes his official announcement to really comment on that, but he looks great. He looked great tonight."

In his record-setting 21st NBA season, Nowitzki is averaging 6.3 points but has dealt with a "frustrating" recovery process after having ankle surgery last spring. Nowitzki said of his future last month that he'd "love to be there for the young guys one more year, but I think it depends on how the body feels."
