What are the Timberwolves going to do with Jimmy Butler? Who knows.

Initial reports stated the team has no intention of trading Butler, who recently expressed his desire to leave Minnesota, but another dropped Friday saying owner Glen Taylor is making Butler available and urging other teams to contact him directly.

"The owner's trading him," one Board of Governors attendee told ESPN. "That was made clear. It's just a matter of when."

"He basically said, 'If you don't get anywhere with (General manager Scott Layden), and you've got something good, bring it to me," another high-ranking league official told ESPN.

Butler's future remains unclear, and confusing. But what is certain is he is eligible for a five-year, $190 million extension with the Wolves if he stays to the end of this season. Butler, who has his sights set on the Clippers, could also sign a four-year, $141 million deal with a new team this offseason.
