Karl-Anthony Towns was involved in a car accident Thursday and might sit out Friday's game against the Knicks.

Coach Ryan Saunders told reporters Towns was in a wreck on the way to the airport and had been excused from shootaround so he could rest at the team hotel. He was questionable for Friday's game at Madison Square Garden.

Towns, 23, has not missed a game in his four NBA seasons, starting 303 consecutive contests for Minnesota. He is averaging 23.1 points and 12 rebounds per game and is coming off his second consecutive All-Star appearance last weekend.

Minnesota enters Tuesday in 11th place in the Western Conference with a 27-30 record.
