Russell Westbrook will serve a mandatory one-game suspension on Monday, the NBA announced on Sunday.

The Thunder star received his 16th technical foul of the season in a 110-88 loss to Golden State on Saturday.

Westbrook seemed unhappy with the officiating and bumped Warriors guard Klay Thompson in frustration.

League rules state that any player with 16 technical fouls in a season must be suspended for one game without pay. Westbrook would then receive additional one-game suspensions for every two technical fouls he is accessed after his 16th.

Westbrook could also face a $5,000 fine, according to an ESPN report. But that's small change compared to the $245,891 in salary he will lose for the suspension.

The Thunder have lost their last two games and have a chance to get back on track against the Heat on Monday, without one key piece at their disposal.
