Ranked teams in the Big 12 had a tough time Saturday in college basketball.
No. 19 West Virginia was the first of three ranked Big 12 teams to fall to unranked opponents Saturday, losing 88-85 to Oklahoma State. No. 10 Kansas then fell to Baylor, and No. 17 Oklahoma lost 88-80 at Iowa State.
Saturday's slate of college basketball games featured some juicy conference matchups, but the Big 12 games seemed fairly straightforward on paper. But that's why they play the games.
The most shocking of the three upsets was Kansas' 80-64 loss. Baylor point guard Manu Lecomte led the charge with 18 points and six assists, while forward Jo Lual-Acuil Jr. added 19 points and six rebounds.
Kansas scored just 20 points in the first half, and couldn't do enough to climb back into contention. Devonte' Graham led Kansas with 23 points.
Oklahoma dropped its third straight game and fourth in its last five thanks to 17 turnovers. Fantastic freshman Trae Young scored 22 points with 11 assists, five rebounds and four steals, but he also had six turnovers and made just 7 of 21 from the field.
College basketball has seen a number of top teams lose recently as conference play starts to wind down. With the NCAA Tournament looming, it's hard to find many true favorites heading into March.
