Steve Kerr insisted the absence of Andre Iguodala and Kevin Durant was no excuse for the Warriors' 103-96 loss Thursday to the Magic.

The Warriors suffered their second straight loss despite Stephen Curry's 33-point night.

Durant missed his first game of the season as Kerr revealed he was "wiped out," while Iguodala was sidelined due to illness.

But the Warriors coach said his team couldn't put its road loss down to being without the influential duo.

"That is the NBA," Kerr said. "Everybody has missing players all the time.

"We've got to be ready to go no matter what."

Kerr conceded that the defending champions had only themselves to blame.

"I didn't think we executed particularly well, we had some open looks, but the ball has got to go in," he said. "Steph is in there beating himself up a little bit, he knows he had a lot of open shots that didn't go.

"I thought Orlando did a better job of executing down the stretch."

With the consecutive losses, Golden State falls to 43-19 but because the Nuggets (42-19) also lost Thursday, to the Jazz, the Warriors maintain a half-game lead atop the Western Conference.

The two-time defending champion Warriors move on to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers (40-22) in a primetime game Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET (ABC).
