Clint Capela could be close to getting back on the court.
The Rockets are hoping the 24-year-old can return after the All-Star break, coach Mike D'Antoni told reporters Wednesday. He has been out since injuring his thumb Jan. 13.
"He's doing everything without contact," D'Antoni told reporters, via the Houston Chronicle. "I guess those two practices will determine whether he will play the first game (after the break) or not."
Capela is averaging 17.6 points and 12.6 rebounds in 34.2 minutes per game this season. The center signed a five-year, $80 million contract extension with Houston this summer.
The Rockets entered the All-Star break in fifth place of the Western Conference with a 33-24 record. They’ll return to action against the Lakers on Feb. 21.
