Reggie Bullock has back surgery one day after signing with Knicks

Reggie Bullock's tenure in New York didn't get off to the greatest start.

The 28-year-old shooting guard underwent surgery Wednesday for a cervical disk herniation, the Knicks announced.

The team added it will provide an update on Bullock's rehabilitation and progress from the procedure around the start of training camp in September.

Bullock, who had just his new two-year contract with the Knicks one day earlier, also has a history of knee and back issues as well as plantar fasciitis. The two sides were forced to rework his deal after his medical problems prompted the team to back out of their initial two-year, $21 million offer.

The final agreement was a reported two-year contract worth $8.2 million.

Bullock was originally selected by the Clippers with the 25th overall pick of the 2013 draft and remained in Los Angeles until he was traded to the Suns in 2015, though he was deal to Detroit later that year and eventually made his way back to L.A. in February.

He averaged 11.3 points in 63 games for the Pistons and Lakers last season.
