Toronto Raptors swingman OG Anunoby underwent an emergency appendectomy on Thursday and has been ruled out indefinitely.

Anunoby was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and underwent a procedure at Mount Sinai Hospital. He is expected to be sidelined for up to two weeks, according to The Athletic.

The surgery is a blow to Toronto's line-up as the Raptors, seeded second in the Eastern Conference, prepare to take on the Orlando Magic in the opening round of the NBA playoffs.

A second-year small forward born in London, Anunoby, 21, averaged 7.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.7 assists over 67 games in 2018-19.

Though he is relatively deep in Toronto's bench rotation, he averages 20 minutes per game, offering respite for starters at multiple positions.
