Five-star recruit Bol Bol, the 7-2 son of longtime NBA player Manute Bol, has chosen his college.

"Next year, I’ll be an Oregon Duck," Bol announced in a post on The Players' Tribune .

Bol is rated the No. 3 recruit in the Class of 2018, according to 247 Sports' composite rankings, and he's the top-ranked center.

Bol said he chose the Ducks over Kentucky, even though he said, "Kentucky had been my dream school ever since I was a kid."

But after thinking about it, Bol said he knew his father, who played 10 seasons in the NBA in the 1980s and ’90s, would approve of Oregon. Manute Bol died in 2010 of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, an immune system reaction.

"I thought a lot about my dad and what he might tell me right now," Bol wrote. "And when I broke it all down like that, I just knew. So I’ll see you in Eugene."

Bol plays for Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nev., after previous high school stops in Caifornia and Kansas. While his father, who stood 7-7, was mainly a rebounder and rim protector who twice led the NBA in blocks, Bol Bol is a good shooter with 3-point range.
