This generation of NBA players has given fans some of the most prolific scorers in the history of the game. With LeBron James, Dirk Nowitzki, James Harden and others, the last few years of basketball has shown scoring feats few decades have ever seen.
On Wednesday night, the NBA treated its fans to one of the most notable scoring nights in recent memory and it all started in Charlotte.
LeBron James joined two scoring clubs that only include Michael Jordan on Wednesday night. By scoring his 10th point in the first half against the Hornets, James recorded double-digit points in his 866th consecutive game, tying Jordan's record for the most in NBA history. In addition, by scoring his 30th point of the night he tallied his 20th 30-point performance against the Hornets, which also ties Jordan for the most ever.
James finished with 41 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in a 118-105 Cavs win.
In the same game, Kemba Walker became the Hornets' all-time leading scorer with 9,840 points, passing Dell Curry.
"I'm not supposed to be here," Walker told NBA TV after the game. "A lot of people from where I'm from don't make it... this is a huge accomplishment."
Speaking of huge accomplishments, Karl-Anthony Towns dropped 56 points to break the Timberwolves' single-game scoring record. He also had 15 rebounds in a 126-114 win over the Hawks.

Philadelphia forward Dario Saric had 26 points and 14 rebounds, but this high-effort assist to Simmons on a loose ball was his play of the night in a 118-101 win over the Knicks.
What's Next
Thunder (44-31) at Spurs (43-32) 8 p.m. ET — Oklahoma City is currently fourth in the Western Conference playoff race and San Antonio is sixth, but the two teams are separated by just one game. The Thunder are just 3 1/2 games from dropping out of the playoffs entirely.
