The Wizards finally got their season on the right track after winning five games in a row despite the absence of All-Star point guard John Wall, but the team is far from satisfied.

Washington is doing all it can to get better both on the court with the players they have and by adding talent from outside the organization. According to ESPN, the team has actively been pursuing Clippers center DeAndre Jordan. They have also put their own center Marcin Gortat on the trade block.

Jordan has been the talk of many trade rumors over the last couple months and the Wizards are also after him. He has one year left on his contract worth approximately $24 million. Gortat also is signed up for one more season for $13.56 million and Washington is hopeful it can swap the two players before Thursday's deadline.

The numbers don't exactly match up, so the Wizards would need to either throw in a draft pick or another player who earns in the $9 million range, but it is the type of the trade that would help both clubs.

Gortat would help the Clippers save some money, while Jordan would make the Wizards a little more dangerous offensively while also allowing Washington to get younger and even a little better on defense. This deal could very well not get done, but on paper it's not a bad match.

Jordan is averaging 11.5 points and 14.9 rebounds per game in addition to a block. Gortat is putting up an average 8.9 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
