The Pistons could be looking to upgrade their backcourt.

Detroit has “engaged in talks” with the Grizzlies about acquiring Mike Conley Jr., according to a report from the Detroit Free Press, which cites unidentified league sources. Memphis is reportedly looking to move the 31-year-old point guard.

The Jazz are also interested in dealing for Conley and they’ve offered the Grizzlies a package centered around Ricky Rubio and a future first-round pick in exchange for him, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

Conley has spent his entire 12-year career in Memphis. He has tallied 20.3 points and 6.3 assists per game while knocking down 35.9 percent of his 3-point attempts in 2018-19.

Conley agreed to a five-year, $153 million extension with the Grizzlies in the summer of 2016.

The Pistons enter play Monday two games behind the Heat for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with a 22-29 record. Meanwhile, Memphis stands at 21-33 and is all but out of the postseason race.
