The Hornets do not appear interested in trading Kemba Walker.

The 28-year-old guard is set to be a free agent after the season. But, Charlotte has no plans to move him, according to a report from The Athletic, which cites unidentified league sources.

Instead, the Hornets are “committed to contending for a playoff” spot with Walker as their leader and owner Michael Jordan “has a strong desire to re-sign” him in the offseason, according to the report.

Walker has averaged 28.1 points and 5.9 assists per game during the Hornets 6-5 start to the season.

Walker, a two-time All-Star, was selected by Charlotte out of Connecticut with the ninth pick in the 2011 draft. He has played all eight of his NBA seasons with the franchise.

The Hornets will face the 76ers in Philadelphia on Friday.
