The 76ers may not be finished making roster moves.
Philadelphia is “highly interested” in acquiring Cavaliers shooting guard Kyle Korver, according to a report from the New York Times. The 76ers are looking to add shooters to their roster after they traded Dario Saric and Robert Covington to the Timberwolves in exchange for Jimmy Butler last weekend.
Philadelphia has an open roster spot after the deal for Butler. But, general manager Elton Brand said Tuesday the team wasn’t in a “rush” to make another move.
“We're going to take our time and evaluate the landscape,” Brand said (via NBC Sports Philadelphia). “We feel like we can actually add an important piece with that roster spot … Nothing is imminent right now, but we think we can use that (spot) to do some real damage and help our team.”
The sharpshooting Korver, who is dealing with a foot injury, has averaged 5.5 points and 1.4 assists in 15.3 minutes per game this season. He has also hit 38.7 percent of his 3-pointers.
Korver was sent from the Hawks to the Cavaliers in January 2017. He has tallied 9.3 points per game and knocked down 45 percent of his 3-point attempts in 119 appearances with Cleveland.
Butler is expected to make his 76ers debut when they face the Magic on Wednesday.
