Things got chippy between the 76ers and Nets in Game 4 of their first-round playoff series.

Philadelphia's star center Joel Embiid gave Brooklyn's Jarrett Allen a hard foul midway through the third quarter, and that's where things got rough.

Nets forward Jared Dudley rushed into the aftermath to shove Embiid for fouling his teammate. Then Jimmy Butler entered the fray to shove Dudley in the back. After that, a cluster of players from both sides formed a scrum beneath the basket.

The officiating crew took a long look at video of the scuffle and ejected Dudley and Butler for being instigators. Embiid on the other hand was assessed a flagrant foul.

Dudley made headlines for calling Ben Simmons an "average" player in the half court ahead of Game 3, and Simmons responded with a postseason career-high 31 points in a convincing 131-115 victory.

Although Simmons responded appropriately, Dudley actively pestered the 76ers from the start of Game 4.

Dudley isn't a star, but he's a veteran voice that's been vital for Brooklyn's young team this season. However, the 76ers are clearly the losers of this situation, as Jimmy Butler is an All-Star caliber player that Philadelphia looks to as a source for clutch buckets down the stretch.

The 76ers are trying to extend their lead to 3-1 and head home to finish the series. But Brooklyn is looking to knot things up heading into Philly, where it already got an upset win in Game 1.
