The Thunder are adding a veteran presence to their frontcourt.

Markieff Morris has agreed to a contract with Oklahoma City, according to a report from The Athletic, which cites unidentified league sources.

Morris was traded by the Wizards to the Pelicans before the deadline for Wesley Johnson. He was waived one day later.

The 29-year-old forward has been out since Dec. 26 with a neck injury, but when healthy he has been effective.

Morris is averaging 11.5 points and 5.1 rebounds while making a career-best 1.4 3-pointers per game. He is shooting 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 43.6 percent from the field.

The Thunder are 19th in the NBA in 3-pointers made per game and 14th among 16 potential playoff teams.
