The Pistons have signed veteran NBA player and current 2019 BIG3 MVP Joe Johnson to a one-year contract, according to multiple reports Thursday.

In a corresponding move, the team has waived Michael Beasley, who agreed to a non-guaranteed deal earlier this summer.

Johnson, 38, is the first BIG3 player to successfully use the league to join the NBA, even though he has 17 years of NBA experience under his belt. According to The Athletic, the deal is partially guaranteed.

With the BIG3's Triplets, Johnson averaged 21.8 points per game and guided the team to a league championship win.

Johnson was last in the NBA during the 2017-18 season with the Rockets and has spent time with the Celtics, Suns, Hawks, Nets, Heat and Jazz.

In his career, he's averaged 16.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists.

Beasley, 30, averaged 7.0 points with 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 26 games with the Lakers last season.
