Nikola Vucevic doesn’t appear like he’ll be heading to Sacramento.

The Kings “have placed an emphasis on improving the center position” this summer, according to a report from NBC Sports Bay Area, which cites an unidentified league source. The team, however, is unlikely to pursue Vucevic, the report says.

Vucevic, who has spent the last seven seasons with the Magic, averaged a career-high 20.8 points, along with 12 rebounds, and made the All-Star team for the first time in 2018-19.

“Obviously I’ve had a great seven years here, but at the same time, we’ll see what happens,” Vucevic said in late April, via the Orlando Sentinel. “It’s a mutual decision, and it’s not just me. They have to decide what they want to do. Based on that, we’ll go from there.”

The Kings could look to add Dewayne Dedmon or DeAndre Jordan, NBC Sports’ report notes. They also may try to sign Jonas Valanciunas while the team also hasn’t ruled out bringing back restricted free agent Willie Cauley-Stein.

The Kings finished last season with a 39-43 and missed the playoffs for a 13th straight season. They’ve also been linked to 76ers forward Tobias Harris.
