RJ Barrett likes the idea of staying in New York after next month's NBA Draft.

While speaking Tuesday at the BDA Sports Management Pro Day at UCLA, the former Duke swingman expressed his excitement about the upcoming event.

"I can’t wait, I’ve dreamed about it since I was a little kid so I’m really excited," Barrett told reporters (via SNY).

But where will he end up?

Barrett, projected by most to be picked third overall by the Knicks after Zion Williamson and Ja Morant go to the Pelicans and Grizzlies, respectively, hinted at fulfilling his Knicks fantasy.

"It would be a lot of fun, definitely, playing in the Garden, those bright lights and they have so much history," Barrett said.

While Barrett said he has no preference where he ends up, the Toronto native does have ties to the Empire State.

"New York is my favorite," Barrett said. "Every summer I visited. I have family there. That’s where my mom grew up, so I’ve definitely been there a lot."

Barrett even met with members of the Knicks organization at the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago and will likely work out for the club before to draft night.

"Great. I loved it, I was very comfortable," Barrett said of his interaction with the Knicks. "We had an honest conversation, it was good. [David] Fizdale is a good coach and they have a good crew there."

The draft is scheduled to begin June 20 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
