Michigan State freshman guard Brock Washington is reportedly under investigation for fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, ESPN reported.

The investigation reportedly began in August, after a student claimed Washington forcibly groped her without her consent. According to ESPN, he is the lone suspect in the case. Campus police investigating the incident turned over their information to Ingham County, Mich., officials in mid-December, and prosecutors are considering formal charges.

Fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct in Michigan is punishable by up to two years imprisonment and/or fine of $500.

Washington, a walk-on from Southfield, Mich., has not played this season for the 24-3 Spartans, who were ranked No. 2 in the most recent AP poll.
