MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg will take a five-point lead home to Germany after beating Banvit 92-87 in the first leg of their Basketball Champions League tie.
The visitors started strongly at the Kara Ali Acar Spor Salonu and were 52-42 up by half-time, but had to withstand a late flurry of points from their Turkish hosts to come away with the win.
The result represented a first home defeat of the season for Banvit, with Kelvin Martin (19) the leading points scorer for Ludwigsburg.
In the day's other quarter-final first leg, ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne and Iberostar Tenerife played out a fascinating contest that ended all square at 62-62.
The lead changed hands 13 times in France and the Spanish side battled hard to recover from being seven points down at the beginning of the fourth quarter to go in front with 17 seconds left to play.
However, Nikola Dragovic made ASVEL's only field goal of the final period, sinking a three-pointer to level the score heading into the second leg.
