LeBron James was not about to shut up Saturday.

The Cavaliers forward used media day at the NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles to address social issues, and sarcastically thanked radio host and Fox News contributor Laura Ingraham for her comments about James and Kevin Durant after the All-Star duo criticized President Donald Trump in an "Uninterrupted" video.

"I appreciate her for giving me even more awareness, at the greatest weekend of the NBA," James, who is one of the team captains for Sunday's game, said Saturday at Staples Center. "This is the best weekend of the NBA, when the countries in the whole entire world come watch the greatest players in the world.

"I get to sit up here and talk about social injustice and equality and why a woman on a certain network decided to tell me to 'Shut up and dribble,'" James continued. "So, thank you, whatever her name is.

"I get to sit up here and talk about what's really important and how I can help change kids, not only in America, but in Brazil, England, Mexico and all over."

James said he started the "Uninterrupted" video site to empower athletes to speak about whatever they want to speak about.

"There was a time when athletes either felt they shouldn't speak out on things or they didn't feel the courage to speak about things that are going on. I do it because I'm passionate about it and I know this is bigger than me, personally. The hardest thing in the world for me personally, is raising two African-American boys and an African-American daughter in today's society. It's hard."

James also questioned the nation's gun laws and why 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz was able to legally purchase a semi-automatic rifle he used to murder 17 people Valentine's Day.

"We have a kid who wasn't legally able to buy a beer at a bar, but could legally buy an AR-15? It doesn't make sense," James said. "How is it possible that we could have minors to go buy a gun?"

James will continue to use his platform to speak out and shared an image Friday on his Instagram account that said, "I am more than an athlete" with the hashtag "#wewillnotshutupanddribble."

Ingraham's comments about James and Durant were criticized as racist because she has been silent when white NBA coaches Gregg Popovich and Steve Kerr have often been critical of Trump's administration. She defended her "shut up and dribble" segment and even invited James on her show "anytime."
