Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton has been fined $15,000 for verbally berating officials against the Sacramento Kings, the NBA announced.
The first-year head coach was irate in the first quarter of Monday's 116-92 defeat when Julius Randle got tangled up with DeMarcus Cousins.
Walton felt his player drew a foul, but nothing was called.
As a result, Walton lost his cool and needed to be restrained by Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson. He was given a double-technical and ejected from the game.
The fine was due to Walton "verbally abusing a game official and not leaving the court in a timely manner after his ejection," the NBA said in a statement on Wednesday.
The Lakers are currently 10-17, which is 10th in the Western Conference standings.
