Kobe Bryant believes his fans will eventually support the new-look, LeBron James-led Lakers.

James announced he was leaving the Cavaliers last month and signed a four-year, $154 million contract with Los Angeles. But some of Bryant’s fans appear to be unhappy with the move.

Bryant, however, said he doesn’t think that will last long.

“If you are fan of mine, you are a fan of winning, you are a fan of the Lakers,” Bryant said Friday on “The Rich Eisen Show.” “I bleed purple and gold. So that is above anything else.

"I have been a Lakers fan since I was yay high. That is never going to change. Right? [It] is about winning championships. So, they'll fall in line."

Bryant won five championships during his 20 seasons with Los Angeles. He said Lakers teams are always focused on capturing titles.

"This is why we play, this is why we are here, is to win championships," Bryant said. "[James] wouldn't have come here if he didn't expect to win championships."

The Lakers also re-signed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and added Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Rajon Rondo and Michael Beasley this offseason.
