Knicks legend Walt Frazier doesn't think Kevin Durant's titles with the Warriors are all that impressive.
In fact, he told Sirius XM NBA Radio the two championships really don't mean much for his legacy.
“Durant, as great a player he is, I would still hold back (giving him credit) because he joined a team that really didn’t need him,” Frazier said, via the NY Daily News. “He’s right there with LeBron (James), probably would’ve surpassed LeBron as the best player in the game soon, but for him doing that I still don’t give him the full credit that he probably would’ve deserved if he stayed in OKC and won a title with that team.”
Durant has won two NBA titles with the Warriors in back-to-back seasons after joining them as a free agent in 2016. He has won the Finals MVP both years.
But Frazier doesn't care too much about those championships and he said it doesn't add much to Durant's spot in the history of the game.
“He’s going to be down the (all-time) list for me because of that," he said. "There will be an asterisk next to his name.”
