Klay Thompson took another jab at the Warriors' fan base as he called Golden State supporters "fickle."
Despite his belief there's a lack of energy at Oracle Arena, Thompson said it's important for him and his teammates to stay focused on their day-to-day tasks and what they can control, rather than the back-and-forth perceptions of fans and media.
"At the end of the day, the love from the media and fans can be fickle, just because it's so game-to-game," Thompson said, via ESPN. "We live in a time where it's 'What have you done for me lately?' You can't get caught up in the love right now."
Thompson's comments come after he issued an apology earlier this month, saying he "meant no disrespect" toward Golden State fans when he told reporters he "expect(s) our crowd to be little more into it" following the Warriors' 115-111 loss to the Suns on March 10.
He explained: "I know it's not the playoffs, but it is our last go-around at Oracle. (At) least you can stand up or something when we make a good play, especially in the beginning. ... We need that energy, especially this time of the year. It's hard to conjure up energy every single night 'cause you're looking forward to the playoffs and that run."
The Warriors have 11 games left on their regular-season schedule and hold a 49-22 record entering Saturday's matchup against the Mavericks. The defending back-to-back champions are sitting atop the Western Conference, a 1/2 game ahead of the Nuggets.
