Cavaliers forward Kevin Love completed the consultation process on his fractured left hand, and it was determined he will not need surgery to heal the injury.

The team announced Friday morning that Love will not undergo surgery, but he is still expected to miss eight weeks while he undergoes a non-surgical treatment.

Love suffered the injury during the first quarter Tuesday against the Pistons. Due to the injury, Love was replaced on the All-Star roster by Heat point guard Goran Dragic.

Jae Crowder and Channing Frye will continue to see increased minutes in Love's absence. The Cavs have also been linked with a number of players ahead of this month's NBA trade deadline, so they may opt to snag another frontcourt player while Love heals.
