Kawhi Leonard has jokes.

The normally stoic forward poked fun at himself at his first media appearance as a Raptor, quipping, "I'm a fun guy."

Those were his first words spoken since he was traded from the Spurs to the Raptors, although he was quick to add, "Obviously, I love the game of basketball.”

Leonard addressed the rumors that he was unhappy about being in Toronto and that he wanted to go to Los Angeles, saying that he just wanted to win.

“I want to play here. As long as I have on a jersey, I want to play basketball. I came here with an open mind. … By winning games, this is how you get star-caliber players to want to come here and play,” Leonard said.

When asked about his future with the franchise, he vaguely replied: “If you look toward the future, you’re going to trip over the present.”

As to his time with the Spurs, Leonard said he didn't have any regrets, but didn't dive into the drama surrounding his exit.

Leonard spent 73 games on the bench last season with a quad injury, which caused the team to question the severity of the injury. The discord grew between Leonard and the Spurs, which prompted the team to trade Leonard and Danny Green to Toronto for DeMar DeRozan.
