Kawhi Leonard watch has reached a ridiculous new height.

The star reportedly was flown from Los Angeles to Toronto on Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment’s private plane Wednesday, and news outlets north of the border scrambled to Toronto Pearson International Airport to get a glimpse of his arrival.

From there, Leonard was followed to the Hazelton Hotel, where he was rumored to be scheduled to meet with Raptors president Masai Ujiri and general manager Bobby Webster. At that point, though, frenzied fans and media had already lined up along the street outside the hotel.

Leonard was dealt from the Spurs to the Raptors last year and quickly made an impression as he helped Toronto win its first championship. He recently opted out of the final year of his contract with the Raptors and became an unrestricted free agent, with the Southern California native drawing the most interest from Los Angeles.

The Lakers reportedly are optimistic due to the recruiting efforts behind LeBron James and Magic Johnson after the team acquired Anthony Davis, though the Clippers believe they have a fair shot at landing Leonard, as well.

Leonard had career-high per game averages in points (26.6) and rebounds (7.3) last season and averaged 30.5 points per game in the playoffs.
