It doesn't appear Jimmy Butler will be returning to Minnesota.

According to Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN, Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor said the guard turned down a four-year extension worth approximately $110 million.

This report comes amid rumors that Butler has been frustrated with Minnesota. The Chicago Sun-Times reported earlier this month that Butler likely would not sign an extension because he "has been frustrated with the nonchalant attitudes of younger teammates—specifically Karl-Anthony Towns."

Butler, who played his first season with the Timberwolves last year, is under contract for $18.7 million next season and has a $19.8 million player option for the 2019-20 season. As Wolfson notes, he could opt into free agency to explore more options next year.

Butler is coming off a season where he suffered a meniscus tear. Prior to his injury, Butler averaged 22.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game in 2017-18.
