The situation between Jimmy Butler and the Timberwolves is getting stranger.

Butler held a players-only meeting Thursday to air out his grievances, according to The Athletic. During this meeting, Butler told his teammates he would play with them and that his frustration is with management.

The report also stated that several players spoke up during the meeting, but that it was mainly Butler doing the talking. Butler reiterated what he reportedly said in his explosive practice Wednesday: That he runs the show.

Tensions between the team and Butler reached a boiling point Wednesday, when he reportedly told the team "you f—ing need me" and criticized management, coach Tom Thibodeau, general manager Scott Layden, plus teammates Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins.

A proposed blockbuster deal between the Timberwolves and Heat fell apart over the weekend just before it was completed. Minnesota reportedly wanted too many assets for Butler, which soured the deal.
